Bougainvillea

This is an original acrylic painting in a square format on stretched canvas.
This cheerful painting is dominated by the stunning pink and red shades of a bougainvillea flower. It has several smaller flowers and muted leaves in the background.
The 3 waxy flowers are central to 3 colourful sepals and although they originate from South America, they thrive in warmer climates. They grow rampantly unless controlled and pruning can be slightly hazardous due to the thorns on their woody stems.
The sides of the painting are 4 cm deep and painted in blue black.
The painting is signed in full at the back of the painting.
