The Waterfall – an acrylic painting on canvas by Sue Hill. Sue was looking through some photos in brochures of the places in the far north of Australia, such as Darwin and the Kimberleys, places she would love to visit one day which inspired her to paint this scene. She also remembered similar rocky pools and waterfalls on her uncle’s farm in the mountains outside of Cape Town when she was a child, so set out to escape from the media and rush of busy daily life and imagine a fun, idyllic place to be. This painting of an ‘above and below’ water scene is the result of that.
Firstly, Sue painted a landscape, i.e. the rocks, waterfall, trees and pool before adding the kids playing in the water and on the rocks, the dog and the fish.
The sides are painted black, and it is signed on the back and sealed with matt medium. It is wired and ready to hang.
