Training by the Sea by Sue Hill. Sue was inspired to paint ‘Training in the Sea’ after a few challenging commissions to paint racehorses. It is a whimsical fantasy painting by Sue for her own enjoyment. She enjoys the freshness of the sea and here has created a surrealistic scene of a steam train emerging from a tunnel, the tracks of which are draped over a horse’s back. A boy stands on top of the kneeling form of a girl who is peering into the submerged manhole amongst a bed of coral and where the tracks supposedly lead the train underground. A boy and a girl swim towards the tracks. Under water all is calm. On the horizon clouds have formed from the steam of the train.
This imaginative acrylic painting is colourful and decorative. Sue has sealed the painting with matt medium varnish. It is signed on the back and is wired ready to hang. The edges of the painting are painted black.
