The Penultimate Supper by Sue Hill. This rectangular painting of a dining room in a restaurant with a window into the kitchen where the chef is working. Sue was inspired to paint this scene after a visit to a winery in Victoria. At the back of the well-lit kitchen is a window with two dogs peering into the scene against green foliage. In the foreground are anonymous people seated and in conversation at a dining table in front of a wooden sideboard.
The scene is painted in acrylic in a portrait format in impressionistic style. The title is ‘tongue-in-cheek’.
The painting is signed at the back. The sides are painted black and it is wired and ready to hang.
