Storm in a teacup

This is an original acrylic painting on a square canvas. The artist began this exercise by blacking out the canvas with charcoal and then erasing parts to create an image or images. The charcoal seemed to lend itself to hard edges in this case and Sue drew a teacup. The storm was an afterthought as the whole scene was dark and foreboding and needed livening up. The overflow of water from the wave into the saucer added another surreal dimension. The painting is finished in universal varnish and the sides are a deep blue black. It is wired and ready for hanging and is signed on the back.
