The idea to paint the jetty came from a recent trip to beautiful Waiheke Island, N.Z. where Sue waited for the Coromandel ferry on the far side of the island to take us over the mainland. Waiheke island is accessed by ferry from Auckland and is yet unspoilt and has the most beautiful bays and vistas.
The scene of the wooden jetty here is viewed from a high vantage point looking back to one of the idyllic bays of the island. Sue added numerous figures to give the scene more interest and colour.
