This is a mixed media painting in landscape format.
It is bold and colourful, and the small canvas was first built up with moulding paste, which was allowed to dry before being sealed, then painted over.
Mt. Coot’ha is an Aborigine word meaning a place of bees and a place to collect honey. It is also the nearest hill closest to the city centre of Brisbane, which offers panoramic views of the city. There is also a botanic garden and green houses at its base.
This small painting was inspired by the bush surrounding the park and the rough dry land.
