Looking through you – 159
“Looking through you’ was created by Sue in a square format from an original acrylic painting of hers of wildflowers. She felt the painting, while colourful, was somewhat stiff and needed more content. Sue used a magazine image of a pretty girl as a reference to paint a face with light washes over the top of the flowers, highlighting her eyes to give the painting focus and lightly touching up some of the colours in the flowers so that they show through.
The title comes from the Beatles ‘Rubber Soul’ album:
I’m looking through you
Where did you go?
I thought I knew you
What did I know…
The painting is signed on the back and is wired and ready to hang. The sides are painted black.
