Go Girls by Sue Hill
Sue’s love of colour and movement can be seen in this acrylic landscape. The surf boards lend themselves to bright colours contrasted against the blue sea and sky. Sue embarked on this painting following sea and action paintings she previously painted and loved the subject of girls getting out into the sea with their boards under the watchful eye of the life saver and other lifesavers in their red inflatable dinghies. The background is of no geographical place but is used as a backdrop for the action of the girls. She wanted the viewer to feel they were there as part of the action.
Sue began this painting by priming the canvas three times. She used pigmented inks for additional colour, which once dry added a bit of interest. She then reverted to acrylics. She has lightly outlined some of the elements in the painting to make them stand out more than others.
The painting is sealed with matt varnish and is ready to hang. The edges are painted black and it is wired and ready to hang.
