Ballet Belles

This original acrylic painting is in portrait format depicting a group of young dancers at the end of a performance. The parents stand to photograph or clap on their daughters.  Sue decided to paint this scene after attending one of her grandchildren’s ballet concerts. The relief of the little girls after the show and after the excitement of being dressed up and having to perform their choreographed dance routine in front of an audience was palpable.  Sue has not painted any detail in their faces and their costumes are in very bright colours. She has painted in the bunting to direct the viewer’s eye towards the performers.  The painting is finished in universal varnish. The sides are painted black and it is signed on the back and is ready for hanging.
