Lorikeets
Lorikeets by Sue Hill. The inspiration for this acrylic painting of Lorikeet Rosellas is a composition selected from various photos of these colourful birds, which are common to the eastern seaboard of Australia. Some time ago, Sue had lunch at an outdoor café with friends at a place on Mt. Tamborine with a picturesque view of the valley below when these vivid birds joined the table querulously looking for scraps of food. They were very tame and easy to photograph. Recently a group of Rosellas have been in the flowering grevilleas of a neighbour’s tree which prompted Sue to seek out the photos she took of the birds.
Sue has painted this subject in portrait format and painted the sides/edges black. It is wired, ready-to-hang and it is signed on the back.
