Jetty Jumpers

This large acrylic painting is in portrait format and portrays a group of boys jumping and diving off the wooden jetty. Sue has painted a lovely sunny day with high cloud and a gentle sea breeze. One boy has dived into the sea in the foreground, one is coming out of the sea and is ascending a jetty ladder. Three others are about to hurl themselves into the water. In the background is the beach with some sea kayaks and on the left are trees.
The inspiration for this painting came to Sue after a visit to the Bay of Islands in New Zealand, where there were several kids hurling themselves into the ocean from the pier. Recently a friend sent pictures of kids doing a similar thing at Coochiemudlo island jetty which spurred Sue on to create this scene of kids having fun.
The sides are painted black and it is signed on the back and is wired ready to be hung
